NEW: LOFI REAKTANT
Lofi Reaktant is a Reaktor ensemble, a lo-fi sample playback engine effectively rendering what could be called desirable degradation on the sound quality, in a similar way as the first digital samplers; the Publison, the Emulator and the Fairlight.
Turn the filter up on low octaves and a modern sampler in all its perfectness won’t produce much changes to the sound. Lo-Fi Reaktant will. A whole world of scattering and significantly aliasing noises will turn up. Towa Tei’s world!
This sampler plugin is for Reaktor and Reaktor Player in Demo mode (30 minute limit). A standalone version is under development and will be free for all users once it’s ready.
It sounds so good
We have bundled Lo-Fi Reaktant with a bunch of interesting samples for you to begin experimenting. Almost regardless of the parameter settings made on these, what you will discover is the real sampler sound of yesterday. Not only have we bundled some very sought after classic sounds; when played back with this plugin the sounds ooze with true oldskool character.
We have become popular as providers of original classic sounds and now we’re taking that concept further into the downwards, backwards spiral!
Can you lofize? Downsize? Aliasate? The terminology of decimators, sample rate reducers and other bitcrushers, that’s the language. Synonyms based on the following words: lo-fi, decimation, aliasing, and / or grainy.
Start off by opening the sample map editor. If you’re in Edit Mode, it should be an icon on the top of Reaktor that looks like a waveform. Then you load samples into there, and when you’ve finalized your new sample map, you press the Refresh button on the ensemble.
Note that this will overwrite the prior sound in the snapshot, meaning you should make a new snapshot for the ensemble beforehand, or at the very least, not save the ensemble if overwritten.
