This is my edit of the Reason Factory Sound Library bass sound “Fat Boy”, I called it Fat Boy Bitley Scritley. I used it as the main bass sound for my remix of Scritti Politti’s Small Talk, a track you can hear if you check the Fairlight Platinum page. There is a high pitched oscillator in the sound, you might think it sounds a bit odd, but I think it works well in a dense mix such as this one, it kind of emphasizes the bass notes.

Fat Boy Bitley Scritley.thor (zipped) (instant download when you click it, about 2,5 kb)

Note. It was made with Reason 6 so it might not work with previous versions, please report back how it works with older versions.

Enjoy!

Hiya guys! A short while ago, I got a rush of synthesizer nostalgia seeing a JV-1080 advertised among the second hand ads here in Sweden. The 1080 was quite a boom on the market when it appeared in late 1994. I was fortunate to have saved up a bit of cash so I was in line, waiting for my brand new 1080 back in 1995; stores could not deliver enough units so there was a queue. Used it on a nearly daily basis up until when Reason came along and I moved away from hardware for a while. Now I tend to enjoy both methods. I am one of the old men crying against the wind, “give us MIDI out in Reason!”.

1080′s back in place and I thought I should re-program some of my old favourite sounds; the PW/PWM patches!

Here’s two new lofi videos but if you follow them closely you’ll soon have a bunch of super cool PWM sounds in your JV (& compatibles), enjoy!

PWM on JV part 1

Did you work it out & did you like it? I might add more synthesizer & programming tips in the future.

Sneak preview! Michael Moog has produced a brand new track for the 17 year old TMG Recording artist Cierra Ramirez exclusively using the Bitley™ Fairlight Platinum ReFill for Reason 6.
Michael Moog will possibly be providing a RPS version of the track which will be provided to all Fairlight Platinum license owners. Michael Moog is also currently producing the 90s pop act No Mercy and the Fairlight Platinum ReFill is being used there as well.

Sneaky peaky informing about Bitley O8 for Reason 6 and up – you can now preorder my upcoming new refill called Bitley O8. It’s a unique, totally new and fresh refill with hundreds of perfectly looped waveforms. Making those have allowed me to really go creative with the patch programming. Sound sources have been a select number of synthesizers that I recorded in 24 bit, looped and edited. More details will be posted when it’s done. All I can say is that if you like your current Bitley refills, you are going to love this one! You can preorder it now for just $15. This gives you the refill in its current state. More patches will be added, the graphics will be changed (art director MK is working on that right now). To preorder, just click this link. (Paypal).
